When Peter (Patrick Midgley) learns that his childhood home is being repossessed, he has only five days to remove a lifetime of memories. Behind a locked door he discovers that his dad recorded everything that was said in the house. Confronted by this shocking family secret, Peter must face memories of a distant father, a lost faith, and a startling betrayal. The film also stars singer/songwriter Dorothy Savage.

.:The Story Behind the Story:.

Between the Walls was directed by Chris Staron and produced by Nick Staron, the creators of Bringing up Bobby, Pint Size Parables, and the Glowing Nose Podcast. The film started with a simple plan: to share the gospel through a simple, straightforward film. To make something unique and inspiring, while exploring the need for man to seek the redemption from Jesus alone.

“A lot of characters in Christian movies are stale,” says Chris, “with Between the Walls, we wanted to to explore friendship evangelism within the realm of someone who considers themselves damaged goods — someone who has had something truly difficult happen to them”. Through the course of the film, Peter is confronted by his “Christian” dad, who represents what a lot of people think of when they think of a Christian. “We did not want to undercut the work of great men of God, or belittle the role of the father. However, we wanted to address people whose negative relationship with their parents has influenced their ideas about the Lord. Sadly, a lot of people walk around with scars, both emotional and physical, that deter them from coming to the Lord. Or else they are so overcome with guilt that they feel they can never go before a holy God. We wanted to give them a chance to see that it is when we are broken that we can truly come before the Lord because we are aware of His perfection and our lack of purity. It is then that we find the need for a mediator — and that is Jesus”.

After moving back to Ohio the Staron brothers founded Glowing Nose LLC, a Christian media company dedicated to godly media. The film took two years to produce from script to store shelf and is currently available on 6 continents. “I doubt that people have any concept of how difficult it is to make a movie — let alone a Christian film,” says Chris. “All movies take time and energy. But making an independent Christian film is even more difficult. But it has been great to get feedback from people who have seen the movie and repented, starting relationships with the Lord or re-dedicating their lives”.
