Every year thousands of children receive shoeboxes packed with shoes, toothpaste, notebooks, and other goodies packed by volunteers all around the world. These boxes are delivered to areas in very real need. Operation Christmas Child (a ministry of Samaritan’s Purse) is a worthwhile ministry that we wanted to take a few minutes to support.
In July of 2009, Chris and Nick worked at the Creation NE festival promoting Bringing up Bobby. Their neighboring table was for Operation Christmas Child, where they met Lejla Allison, a woman who received a shoebox as a child.
This ministry relies on the generosity of normal people like you and me. Would you consider spearheading this ministry in your local church? It means contacting the ministry and then hosting a drive at your church or organization where people donate shoeboxes filled with supplies that can then be given to kids around the world along with a gospel tract.
