Aligning the Shots

This short video shows how we decided to shoot “Between the Walls”. A major part of the work done by the cinematographer is accomplished simply by deciding where to place the actors in the frame. This can determine the mood of a scene, give clues to the audience as to where the actor is looking, and much more!

This short video is one of a series that we did to help other filmmakers and to advertise for the film. We strongly recommend laying out diagrams for each shot before you shoot. It really helps to have things planned in advance. This video, along with many more, is available on the DVD for “Between the Walls”.
